Great work, from our eagle eyed Launch crew recently. Our Launch crew were able to rescue a fisherman who was in the water for about 40 minutes in the dark, approximately 3 km offshore from Mooloolaba. After sighting a flare, our crew contacted the Rescue Co-ordination Centre who passed on the coordinates from an activated EPIRB. After a search the man was located and rescued from the water using our launches dedicated man over board recovery gear. The rescue highlights the importance of proper safety equipment without it the outcome of this incident could have been very different.
